About eight years ago, I remember having FB debate with a few old HS classmates who claimed electric cars would be a passing fad, underpowered toys with limited range.
Over the past couple years, the fastest street cars were electric (ex. a Tesla 0-60 in under 4 seconds) and range that will soon meet or exceed gas cars. This is now beyond the reach of reactive RW politics. This is what it takes to compete worldwide. Obama got the mo started with pressing the higher MPG goals back with the auto industry bailout.
