The downside of driving during the holidays

The downside of driving during the holidays. We left NJ a bit later than normal to avoid Philli rush hour. And the plan worked!
Got into N.C. without one delay (a record), but then hit a full stop on I95 due to an accident a few miles ahead. It’s been an hour and still no update on the I95 web site to when the road will be cleared. May be a late night getting home to SC … again.

I never drive 95 anymore. I take 81 through the Shenandoah Valley, Harpers, 220 into NC from Roanoke. Never any traffic.

Thanks, will let my wife who loves to drive know. We sat for 90 minutes waiting for it to clear. But we were stopped inside of N.C. on 95. The trip used to be just under 12 hours with stops for breakfast and early dinner. Last few years it’s been 14 plus.

Thanks for the tip, Barbara. 95 by DC is almost always a mistake. . Had hoped they would improve it – someday…

Yeah, I found the I95 web site at the time. The accident was a couple miles ahead and happened maybe 10 minutes before we got there. Projected an hour delay, but was almost 1.5. Stuck between exits, there was no way around.

As beach vacation destinations go, Vietnam perhaps isn’t the obvious choice. However, the country’s beaches are beautiful enough to rival those of the more famous Thailand resorts, and there are plenty that haven’t yet been spoiled by high-rise resorts and…  Đọc tiếp

Bristol music people. This whole St Philips Gate mystery-venue-that-has-to-keep-moving-its-gigs-to-other-venues thing has been troubling me. So I did what all good troubled people should do and went out and paced every yard of the St Philips and Feeder Road area to…  Đọc tiếp
