We have the republicans on the run, a shot in midterms to mitigate the long term damage. So what do we do? Attack each other on single sentence headlines without context.
The basis for DNC preference is that Hillary saved the DNC from near bankruptcy and raised money for down ticket races. Sanders never joined the party and raised zero. So if you were the DNC who would you favor? Doesn’t meet the primaries were rigged, as that is an entirely different ball game. No one cheated the primaries, period. It wasn’t even close.
The last time we had this degree of infighting, Nixon was running a tepid campaign under an unpopular war still going on. Watergate hadn’t yet been exposed. So what do we do, choose the most liberal – and weakest candidate to run in a very divided nation. McGovern got only ONE state in the worse defeat ever, loosing to a crook.
If not careful we will do this again in 2020. We unite and compromise in the wide middle ground that appeals to a diverse and divided nation, or democracy is truly done for this time around.
Now trump can tweet rigged and crooked to his heart’s content to divert attention. Btw even if he goes down, the damage will perpetuate the destructive myth that both parties are the same. Lest we forget, look at which party got us civil rights, women’s rights, gay righty’s, consumer protection, social security, Medicare, Medicare ….. to name a few.
